These quiet beach towns might not have a single traffic light, but that doesn't stop the islands from hosting many annual events. Not only will you have tons of fun, but you'll also get a glimpse into what it's like being a local of our amazing community.
According to its website, "the Captiva Civic Association`s mission is the preservation of the quality of life, ambiance, and environmental integrity of this unique barrier island community." This February event is a big fundraiser for the organization whose work has a great positive impact on the community. |

For decades, the Sanibel-Captiva Rotary Club has hosted the Sanibel Captiva Arts & Crafts Festival. The large event showcases more than 80 artists for two days in February and features a silent auction, a food court, and lots of fun. |

The Kiwanis Club on Sanibel and Captiva hosts several events throughout the year, but this Spring one is unique to the Islands. Two-person teams play nine hold scramble and nine-hole best ball. The tournament raises money to support children`s organizations throughout Lee County. |

For more than 40 years, teams and families have puzzled out clues while following a prescribed driving course around Sanibel Island. To keep the festivities going after Sanibel-Captiva`s Fourth of July Parade, the Sanibel-Captiva Optimist Club hosts the Sanibel Captive Road Rally right after the parade to raise money for the islands` youth. |

According to Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation`s website, the proceeds from the tournament "benefit the mission-driven work of SCCF, which is dedicated to protecting and caring for Southwest Florida`s coastal ecosystems." Categories for the event are 3.0, 3.5, and 4.0 men`s, women`s, and mixed doubles. It takes place each December. |
